TED
Starring The Cast of Family Guy and Marky Mark.
Hey did you happen to see any commercials for this movie? Well then you have seen this movie. Don't you just hate when that happens?
For those that care, our "story" concerns a Teddy Bear that comes to life when a lonely boy wishes for a real friend. Fast forward 30 years and they are still buddies. Hilarious right?
This overlong nonsense reads and plays out more like a live action episode of The Family Guy then it does a movie. With 90% of the family guy cast (Seth Green being the only smart one to NOT appear) and all the regular flashback sequences and guest stars from the past, this flick much like the show itself seems to cater to people that grew up in the 70s and 80s exclusively. The proof of this would be the elderly grandmother and grandson combo that got up and left the cinema about 15 minutes in to the screening I attended.
As a huge fan of the show I couldn't help but chuckle here and there but the plot and premise wore thin quickly and I soon found myself debating an early exit simply to beat traffic but my popcorn was too good and so I stuck it out.
Need another reason to skip this one? Consider this. The movie was on the back burner for being made for roughly 5 years because they couldn't find a female lead. The film in their eyes was all but a smash except for the perfect female lead. Sure Seth sure. I never thought I would say I was bored watching Mila Kunis but alas.
